This is the weekly roundup for Oct 5–11, 2026.
The week's defining fact is a collapse in breadth: dollar volume held at $39.85M (up 0.90% as reported) while buyer addresses fell 85.33% to 30,332 and seller addresses fell 84.45% — the same dollars cleared through about one-seventh of the previous week's wallets. The 12 stories below cover Igloo's decision to shut its Abstract chain on Dec 15, Pudgy Penguins doubling its sales in the same week, a Bitcoin-led top sale for the first time since early September, four blue-chip floors dragged lower by an ether slide, and a Hong Kong-listed NFT platform that swung +670% and −82% before pricing a $1M raise.
The Stories
NFT sales hold at $39.85M while buyer addresses collapse 85.33%
Summary. Global NFT sales came in at $39.85M for the seven days ending Oct 10, up 0.90% as reported, per CryptoSlam — but every participation metric collapsed. Buyer addresses fell 85.33% to 30,332, seller addresses fell 84.45% to 30,598, and transactions fell 6.92% to 778,055, lifting the average recorded sale to about $51.22 and the value per buyer address to roughly $1,314 from $198 a week earlier. The same dollars cleared through about one-seventh of the wallets. Context: Bitcoin near $82,768 and Ethereum near $2,494 on Oct 10, with total crypto capitalisation around $2.89T.
Commentary. Flat dollars on an 85% smaller participant base is the mirror image of the previous week, when participation rose while value fell — concentration, not recovery, is what held the tape up.

Igloo winds down Abstract: the consumer-crypto L2 goes dark on Dec 15
Summary. Igloo Inc., the parent company of Pudgy Penguins, announced on Oct 6 that its Ethereum layer-2 Abstract will shut down on Dec 15, 2026, and that assets not bridged off by then become inaccessible. Igloo had funded the chain for about 18 months and lost tens of millions of dollars, citing a restricted DeFi ecosystem, thin liquidity and minimal institutional crossover; the chain had hosted 144 apps and onboarded more than 400,000 users with partnerships including Disney and Red Bull Racing. CEO Luca Netz ruled out a rescue token, and engineering resources shift to the Pudgy Penguins brand and PENGU. Abstract's TVL peaked near $58M in August 2025 and stood at $8.4M this week.
Commentary. The shutdown lands in the same week its parent's flagship collection doubled its sales — the brand outlived its chain, and the money followed the brand.

Pudgy Penguins sales jump 125.66% to $1.50M — the week its chain was retired
Summary. Pudgy Penguins recorded $1.50M in weekly NFT sales, up 125.66%, ranking third among collections, per CryptoSlam. Transactions rose 151.28% to 196, buyer addresses rose 54.10% to 94 and seller addresses rose 101.64% to 123. The surge landed in the same week Igloo announced Abstract's Dec 15 shutdown — a brand-level demand signal that arrived while the collection's ETH floor fell 4.88% to 2.825 ETH on 127.5% more turnover, per the NeoDrop briefing.
Commentary. NFT demand and token sentiment decoupled: collectors kept buying the IP in the week the token and the chain both took their worst news of the quarter.

The week's largest NFT sale happened on Bitcoin: $8888 BRC-20 clears $327,126
Summary. CryptoSlam's largest individual sale of the week came from the $8888 BRC-20 collection on Bitcoin: a single print at $327,125.81, equivalent to about 3.9989 BTC, roughly one day before the Oct 10 snapshot. The sale was about 9.2% of Bitcoin's $3.55M weekly NFT total, and nearly the collection's entire $327,134 week — which came across just two transactions. Last week all five of the largest tracked sales settled on Ethereum; this week the top print did not.
Commentary. A two-transaction collection topping the value table is a whale print, not a market — but it is the first Bitcoin-led top sale since the BRC-20 sweep of Sep 7–13, after single Ethereum-led and Base-led weeks.

Courtyard holds #1 at $7.68M — 19.3% of global volume and 89.1% of Polygon
Summary. Courtyard led collections for another week at $7.68M, up 6.56% as reported, on 133,068 transactions (up 7.52%), 19,547 buyer addresses (down 7.50%) and 15,397 sellers, per CryptoSlam. That is roughly 19.3% of global NFT sales and 89.1% of Polygon's $8.62M week — a higher share of the global tape than last week's 17.9%, in a week when the tape itself barely moved. Measured against our own Oct 3 capture of $7.31M, the gain is 5.08%; the reported 6.56% uses CryptoSlam's revised internal base.
Commentary. The vaulted-cards model keeps absorbing a fifth of the market's dollars while the participant count shrinks — Polygon's chain ranking still reads through Courtyard or not at all.

ETH falls 6.95% and drags four blue-chip floors with it; Doodles alone holds
Summary. NeoDrop's weekly briefing recorded ether down 6.95% ($2,667.95 to $2,482.48) for October 2–9, with four of five tracked floors lower in ETH: Pudgy Penguins −4.88% to 2.825 ETH, CryptoPunks −4.85% to 31.39 ETH, Azuki −4.72% to 0.605 ETH and BAYC −2.46% to 5.95 ETH, while Doodles closed flat at 0.2621 ETH. In dollar terms all five closed 9% to 14% lower. Cohort volume rose 34.2% to 2,234.15 ETH, carried by Pudgy Penguins (+127.5%) and CryptoPunks (+56.3%), and every repair test the briefing set a week earlier failed — including BAYC's offer, which slid from 97.0% to 93.9% of floor.
Commentary. A falling floor on rising volume means sellers were met; the week's one flat floor, Doodles, held on the group's thinnest tape — which is holders, not demand.

Four of the five largest sales clear on Ethereum, led by two Flying Tulip prints
Summary. CryptoSlam's individual sales rankings put the Bitcoin $8888 print first at $327,125.81, followed by Flying Tulip PUT #7571 at $148,851 and PUT #149 at $126,873 — both settled in USDT on Ethereum — with CryptoPunks #2651 at $135,636.77 (50 ETH) and #5713 at $132,924.03 (49 ETH) between them. The five prints total about $871,411, roughly 2.2% of the week's global sales — a smaller share than last week's $996,000 top five because the leaderboard no longer contains a half-million-dollar print.
Commentary. The high end retreated from $436K to $327K and diversified by chain, but the USDT-settled Flying Tulip pair shows stablecoin settlement is no longer unusual at the top of the table.

CryptoPunks rebound to $2.45M on 26 trades while their floor falls below 32 ETH
Summary. CryptoPunks ranked second among collections at $2.45M, up 24.45%, on 26 transactions (up 23.81%) with 18 buyer addresses, per CryptoSlam — an average near $94,337 per print against a floor that fell 4.85% to 31.39 ETH (about $77,944). NeoDrop's briefing put the week's largest Punk sale at 51.5 ETH, 1.6 times the floor, and the listed count at 1,101 items — 11.0% of supply, eight more than a week earlier and still the heaviest float in the cohort. The briefing's own test failed: volume needed to clear 149.36 ETH a day and ran at 129.52, and the floor needed to hold 33 ETH.
Commentary. The average print trading 21% above a falling floor is exactly the rare-piece-versus-common-supply split — the table's dollar rebound and the floor's decline are both real.

NFT Ltd. prices a $1M raise at $1.00 a unit — after a +670% day and an −82% day
Summary. NFT Ltd. (NYSE American: MI), the Hong Kong operator of an online art and collectibles trading platform, priced a $1.0M registered direct offering on Oct 8 — 1,000,000 units at $1.00 each, each with a five-year warrant, with closing expected Oct 9 and proceeds earmarked for its NFT platform and an AI robotics project. The pricing landed one trading day after the stock closed at $1.23, down 82.43%, and two days after it had surged about 670% to $7.00 on Oct 5 on volume near 165.7M shares with no company-specific catalyst — a swing that drew an exchange inquiry and a 6-K stating the company knew of no explanation.
Commentary. A $1M raise closing at $1.00 a unit after a week that traded between $1.07 and $7.95 is the meme-stock lifecycle compressed into five sessions — and the company still has to explain none of it.

Pudgy Penguins runs its Token2049 Huddle while PENGU has its worst week
Summary. Pudgy Penguins ran its Huddle event series in Singapore from Oct 6 through Oct 9, timed to Token2049 — a Solana builders mixer, an Inside the Igloo merch-and-gacha night, a Pengu Rally Lounge and a holders-only ice-cream stop, announced Sep 27 with passport stamps for each stop. The same week, PENGU was among the market's worst performers, down roughly 20% through Oct 9, with an unlock of about 723M PENGU scheduled for Oct 17 adding supply-side pressure on top of the Abstract shutdown news.
Commentary. The brand was hosting parties in Singapore while its token absorbed the chain shutdown and the unlock — the NFT collection's +125.66% sales week is the third leg of that divergence.
Base and Immutable grow while BNB Chain and Solana shrink
Summary. Immutable ranked fourth among chains at $2.64M, up 22.06%, and Base fifth at $2.40M, up 27.87%, per CryptoSlam — alongside Ethereum and Polygon, the only four of the seven tracked chains to grow this week. BNB Chain fell 16.26% to $1.80M and Solana fell 10.51% to $1.57M. The six leading chains produced about $36.62M, 91.9% of the global total, with Ethereum at $17.60M (44.2%) and Polygon second at $8.62M (+5.76%).
Commentary. Growth at the edges is thin: Immutable's wash field printed $47 and Base's buyer count fell 92.68% to 247 addresses — both gains rest on very small participation bases.

The leaderboard clears: Credits, Panini and $ATMC all exit the top seven
Summary. Last week's top-five names almost entirely rotated out. Credits — second at $2.22M a week ago — Panini America (fourth, $1.87M) and $ATMC BRC-20 (fifth, $1.21M) do not appear in this week's top seven, which is cut off at Claus's $823,768. The new names behind Courtyard, CryptoPunks and Pudgy Penguins are Guild of Guardians Heroes at $1.34M (+27.96%), Argonauts at about $1.34M (+11.89%) and Beezie on Base at $847,665 (+18.08%), per CryptoSlam. Argonauts is the only one of the three that also appeared in this series before September.
Commentary. Three of last week's five stories did not survive a week — the collection table has now rotated for three consecutive snapshots, which makes any single week's leaderboard a bad forecast.

What We Are Watching
- Whether the buyer-count collapse is real or a capture artefact — 30,332 buyer addresses against 206,788 and 160,565 in the two prior weeks rests on one capture carried by five syndicated copies of one article; the next snapshot decides whether participation re-based or the dashboard did.
- Whether BAYC's bid breaks — the top offer slid from 97.0% to 93.9% of a floor that fell 2.46%; NeoDrop's test is an offer under 90% with the listed count climbing, which would mark last week's 97% print as one bidder who has left.
- Whether the CryptoPunks floor finds a level — the floor closed at 31.39 ETH with 1,101 items listed (11.0% of supply); NeoDrop's markers are a floor back above 32 ETH on volume above 151.86 ETH a day, or a floor below 30 ETH with the float still growing.
- Whether the Base wash field prints $4.80M for an eighth published week — the figure has not moved in any capture we hold, and this week's change column (+79.91%) again cannot be reconciled with that level.
- Whether Pudgy Penguins' distribution ends — 304 sales cleared on 135.10 ETH a day with listings up eleven to 274; NeoDrop's done-distribution markers are volume easing toward the 59.31 ETH daily pace with listings under 263, ahead of the Dec 15 Abstract shutdown deadline.
- Whether Courtyard's global share pushes past 20% — it took 19.3% of a shrunken participant base this week and 89.1% of Polygon's organic sales.
Frequently Asked Questions
Did NFT sales rise 0.90% or fall 2.52% this week?
Both figures describe the same $39.85M. The 0.90% rise is measured against the prior-week base implied by the Oct 10 capture's own comparison (about $39.50M); the 2.52% fall measures the same figure against the $40.88M recorded in our Oct 3 capture. CryptoSlam does not publish the span behind its comparison, so both are shown.
How did dollars hold while buyer addresses fell 85%?
The remaining wallets traded more and bigger: transactions per buyer jumped to 25.65 from 4.17, and value per buyer address rose to about $1,314 from $198. Courtyard alone cleared $7.68M through 19,547 buyers, and the $8888 BRC-20 print put $327,126 in a single transaction. Flat totals on a smaller base is concentration arithmetic, not demand returning.
Which chain had the most NFT sales?
Ethereum, at $17.60M — 44.2% of global organic volume, up 4.52% as reported — followed by Polygon at $8.62M (+5.76%, almost entirely Courtyard), Bitcoin at $3.55M, Immutable at $2.64M and Base at $2.40M. Immutable, Base, Ethereum and Polygon grew; BNB Chain and Solana declined.
What is the $8888 collection that took the week's top sale?
A BRC-20 collection inscribed on Bitcoin. Its entire tracked week was $327,134 across two transactions, and the larger of them — $327,125.81, about 3.9989 BTC — was the single largest NFT sale CryptoSlam recorded this week, roughly 9.2% of Bitcoin's $3.55M weekly total.
