This is the weekly roundup for Aug 24–30, 2026.
The week's defining fact is a divergence: sales value fell 44.7% to $63.33M while buyer addresses rose 30.5% and seller addresses rose 54.6%. Underneath that, the prior week's $95.48M headline was itself inflated by a single $55.03M Pandora trade — so the market ex-outlier actually grew. The 11 stories below work through what that means.
The Week in Numbers
The context each story sits in. These are the same figures published in this week's Data Report — the news column and the data column cannot disagree.

The Stories
NFT sales fall 44.7% to $63.33M — while buyer addresses rise 30.5%
Summary. Global NFT sales fell 44.7% week-over-week to $63.33M in the seven days ending Aug 29, per CryptoSlam. Transactions declined 14.13% to 802,330. Yet buyer addresses climbed 30.48% to 227,316 and seller addresses climbed 54.64% to 247,373. The decline came alongside a modest pullback in broader crypto markets, with Bitcoin near $77,600 and Ethereum near $2,440 on Aug 29.
Commentary. Value and participation moving in opposite directions is the defining feature of the week — more wallets participated while each transaction was smaller and there were fewer of them.

Solana the only major chain with growing NFT sales, up 11.17%
Summary. Solana recorded $1.91M in NFT sales for the week, up 11.17% — the only major chain among the six largest to grow while every other network declined. Buyer addresses on Solana climbed 42.97% to 38,593. Ethereum led all chains with $35.56M in organic sales despite falling 49.01%.
Commentary. A single chain growing while the market falls 45% is a real divergence, not noise — worth tracking whether it persists into next week.

Polygon wash volume hits $18.19M — more than 2.5× its organic sales
Summary. Polygon recorded $7.03M in organic NFT sales (−34.29%) but $18.19M in wash-trading volume — more than two and a half times its organic total. Buyer addresses on the network declined 18.53% to 85,607. Base also showed elevated wash activity at $4.80M against $3.57M organic, while Ethereum's wash volume was a comparatively small $1.66M on $35.56M organic.
Commentary. When wash volume exceeds organic volume by this margin, headline chain volume is a poor guide to genuine demand — the organic/wash split is the number to quote.

$X@AGI generates $2.58M from just three transactions
Summary. A Bitcoin BRC-20 collection labelled $X@AGI recorded $2.58M in weekly sales, up 74.89% — but the entire volume came from three transactions involving three buyers and three sellers. A single $2.14M transaction accounted for most of it. CryptoPunks, by contrast, generated $2.07M from 19 sales involving 17 buyer and 18 seller addresses.
Commentary. Three wallets trading with each other is not market demand; percentage growth from a three-transaction base should be ignored on sight.

Beezie logs $1.88M across 11,186 transactions — with 9 buyers and 225 sellers
Summary. Base-based marketplace Beezie recorded $1.88M in weekly sales, down 33.29%, across 11,186 transactions. The address breakdown is the anomaly: just 9 buyer addresses against 225 seller addresses. Courtyard (Polygon) topped the collection table at $6.09M across 98,531 transactions with 17,969 buyers.
Commentary. Concentration can hide in transaction count as easily as in value — 11,186 transactions from 9 buyers is a pattern worth flagging before quoting the volume figure.

Blue-chip floors split: Pudgy Penguins +12%, BAYC −3.1%
Summary. Blue-chip floors moved in opposite directions in the week to Aug 28. Pudgy Penguins rose 12.01% to 4.29 ETH (≈$10,790), while Bored Ape Yacht Club fell 3.06% to 7.899 ETH (≈$19,870) and CryptoPunks slipped 1.33% to 31.98 ETH (≈$80,450). Azuki rose 3.08% to 0.870 ETH and Doodles 3.49% to 0.383 ETH. ETH itself was nearly flat, moving from $2,514.97 to $2,515.68 over the seven days.
Commentary. With ETH flat, these moves are close to organic — and a cohort this split is a genuinely mixed signal rather than a market-wide floor move.

The prior week's $95.48M was inflated by a single $55M Pandora trade
Summary. The Aug 22 CryptoSlam capture reported $95.48M for its window, up 170% — but a single $55.03M Pandora transaction drove most of the gain. Pandora, an ERC-404 hybrid combining fungible ERC-20 and non-fungible ERC-721 mechanics, accounted for $55.21M across just nine transactions — about 58% of that week's total. Excluding Pandora, the rest of the market produced about $40.28M. This week's $63.33M therefore represents a 57% increase over the ex-Pandora base, even though the headline shows a 44.7% decline.
Commentary. The −44.7% headline and the +57% ex-outlier reading describe the same fortnight — which one is 'the market' depends entirely on whether a $55M hybrid-token event counts as NFT demand.

Courtyard tops collections on real-world utility, not digital art
Summary. Polygon-based Courtyard led weekly NFT collection volume at $6.09M, down 37.55%, across 98,531 transactions with 17,969 buyer and 11,755 seller addresses. The collection uses NFTs to authenticate physical trading cards. Ethereum-based Argonauts ranked second at $5.70M from 11,271 transactions.
Commentary. The top of the collection table is now real-world-utility and hybrid-token assets rather than profile-picture collections — a structural shift in what 'NFT volume' actually measures.

Bitcoin ETF outflows of $202M coincide with the NFT decline
Summary. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $201.9M in net outflows on Aug 29, snapping a nine-session inflow streak, per Farside Investors. ARKB led withdrawals at $114.9M, followed by BITB at $49.7M and IBIT at $33.4M. Despite the daily reversal, spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted $924.5M during the Aug 24–28 week. Bitcoin traded near $77,500, down 2.9% over 24 hours.
Commentary. The outflows and the NFT decline happened in the same window, but co-occurrence is not causation — the reporting itself is careful on this point, and so should we be.

CryptoPunks weekly volume concentrated in 19 high-value sales
Summary. CryptoPunks generated $2.07M in weekly sales, up 7.64%, from just 19 transactions involving 17 buyer and 18 seller addresses — an average of roughly $108,900 per sale against a floor near $80,450 (31.98 ETH at the Aug 28 ETH price). CryptoPunks also carried the largest 24-hour volume in the NeoDrop snapshot at 126.58 ETH across four sales.
Commentary. Small transaction counts make weekly Punk figures volatile and heavily dependent on which tier of the collection traded — treat the +7.64% as descriptive, not as a trend.

Immutable gains 18.38% while Blast and Panini fill out the long tail
Summary. Immutable recorded $1.87M in weekly NFT sales, up 18.38%, per the Aug 29 CryptoSlam capture. In the prior window, Blast posted $573,812 after an increase exceeding 300,000% from a tiny base, while Panini fell 41.2% to $537,797. Blast, Panini, Flow and Avalanche rounded out the top 10 chains.
Commentary. Percentage moves from near-zero bases are arithmetic artefacts, not signals — the 300,000% figure is the clearest example this week.

What We Are Watching
- Whether Solana's +11.17% persists into next week — the only major chain growing in a down market.
- Whether Polygon's wash-to-organic ratio stays above 2× — at 2.6× this week, headline Polygon volume is mostly wash.
- Whether the $X@AGI collection records volume from more than a handful of wallets — three transactions is not a market.
- Whether blue-chip floors follow Pudgy's +12% or BAYC's −3.1% — the cohort split this week rather than moving together.
- Whether buyer-address growth (+30.5%) continues if value keeps falling — two consecutive weeks would make the divergence a pattern.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do you choose which NFT news to include?
We gather from a fixed source whitelist, deduplicate, then rank by expected relevance a month from now rather than by same-week coverage volume. Each item carries a full summary and a short separate commentary.
Are these figures from CryptoSlam?
Yes — the weekly volume, transaction, address and collection figures come from CryptoSlam's seven-day dashboard captured Aug 29, 2026, as reported by KuCoin, The Bit Gazette and Coin Alert News. Floor prices come from the NeoDrop briefing of Aug 28.
What does 'not independently confirmed' mean?
The item traces to a single source we could not corroborate against a second source. We publish it labelled rather than dropping it.
Why is buyer-address growth not the same as user growth?
CryptoSlam reports blockchain addresses. One person or entity can control many addresses, so address counts are an upper bound on distinct participants — both sources we cite state this explicitly.
Do you accept payment for coverage?
No. Coverage is not sold, and any commercial relationship is disclosed on the about page.
