Cross-chain NFT sales fell to $37.54M for the week of Sep 14–20, 2026 — a 15.28% decline on the capture's own base — while buyer addresses rose 174.04% to 114,977. One week after the sharpest participation collapse this series had recorded, the address series reverted.

Every figure is CryptoSlam data captured Sep 19, 2026, except the blue-chip floors, which come from NeoDrop's Sep 18 briefing. Where the weekly percentage depends on an undisclosed comparison base, we publish both readings — and this week the two bases nearly agree.

Key point: Global NFT sales fell 15.28% to $37.54M for the week of Sep 14–20, 2026 — and the participation series reversed sharply: buyer addresses rose 174.04% to 114,977, one week after collapsing 84.67%.

Data sources. All figures are CryptoSlam data as reported in the Sep 19, 2026 seven-day dashboard capture (5NFT, Bitcoins News, FinWire, crypto.news, Smarti News and 528BTC — figures identical across outlets; 528BTC is the Chinese-language carry of the same capture). Blue-chip floors come from NeoDrop's Sep 12 – Sep 18 briefing, data cutoff Sep 18 09:00 ET, built from CoinGecko collection data, NFT Price Floor volume series and OpenSea collection pages. Buyer and seller counts are blockchain addresses, which may not equal unique individuals. Wash volume was published this week for Ethereum, Polygon and Base; the remaining chains are shown without a wash figure rather than with an estimated one.

1. Headline Numbers

CryptoSlam's Sep 19 capture records $37.54M in organic sales, down 15.28% against the prior-week base of roughly $44.31M cited inside that capture. Our own Sep 12 capture put the prior week at $46.78M, against which this week is a 19.75% decline. The gap between the two bases closed from 42% last week to 5.3% — the narrowest of the series — and the address columns now reconcile almost exactly between them: buyer addresses compute to +174.02% on our base against +174.04% as reported, and sellers to +149.81% against +151.72%. Value and transaction counts still do not.

*The ~$44.31M prior-week figure is as stated in the capture. The capture does not publish its own prior-week transaction count; its −9.08% implies about 889,000, against the 917,549 in our Sep 12 capture — which is why the two transaction-change columns disagree by 2.8 points.

Average value per transaction fell to $46.44 — $37.54M across 808,432 trades, down 8.9% from $50.98. Transactions per buyer address fell back to 7.0 from 21.9, and value per buyer address dropped from about $1,115 to $327. The two address-based ratios that spiked last week both normalised in one week.

2. Chain Breakdown — Organic vs Wash

Ranked by organic sales. Ethereum retakes a clear lead above 40% of the market, Base is the only chain among the six to grow, and wash volume was published this week for three chains.

ChainOrganic salesShareW/WWashBuyer addrsBuyers W/W

Ethereum leads at $15.32M — 40.8% of organic volume — despite a 2.66% reported decline; on our Sep 12 base the decline computes to 9.0%. Base is the only grower at $2.16M (+4.06%), though its $4.80M of wash volume again exceeded its organic total. Polygon's wash ratio of 2.55× snapped back above 2.5× after one week below it. Bitcoin's 53.99% fall to $4.33M was the steepest of the six, and BNB Chain's 36.26% decline to $2.58M follows its 87.7% reversion — the two weeks together leave BNB about 92% below the level its own 1,042% week reached. The six named chains account for 88.9% of global organic volume.

3. Blue-Chip Floors

NeoDrop's Sep 12 – Sep 18 briefing (cutoff Sep 18, 09:00 ET) recorded four of five floors lower in ETH terms with BAYC the only gainer — the second week running that a single blue-chip floor rose against a falling cohort, after Doodles was the sole gainer the prior week. Doodles fell 7.02%, Pudgy Penguins 6.29%, Azuki 4.62% and CryptoPunks 0.74%, while BAYC added 0.91% to 6.85 ETH. ETH itself rose 1.73% over the window, from $2,514.85 to $2,558.32.

Two change columns, because they measure different things. Change vs Sep 11 compares two precisely dated snapshots — ours and NeoDrop's from last week. 7-day (as reported) is CoinGecko's rolling seven-day percentage, which uses its own window and its own implied prior print. This week they disagree in sign for BAYC: +2.24% between our dated snapshots against +0.91% as reported. The briefing's USD floors also imply an ETH price of about $2,549, marginally below the $2,558.32 endpoint it cites; we quote its USD figures as published rather than re-converting them.

Weekly volume fell on three of the five collections — CryptoPunks −62.15% to 286.70 ETH, BAYC −48.94% to 206.90 ETH and Azuki −41.23% to 32.84 ETH — while Pudgy Penguins rose 6.98% to 243.86 ETH and Doodles 52.96% to 52.57 ETH across 141 sales, the group's busiest tape into its weakest floor.

4. Top Collections

Courtyard (Polygon) led for a fourth consecutive week at $6.30M across 123,504 transactions — 16.8% of global volume, with 18,459 buyer and 14,921 seller addresses, the only genuinely broad base in the top three. Argonauts (Ethereum) held second at $2.74M, down 36.91% on 1,204 transactions. Third place is the week's concentration story: Alchemix V3 Transmuter recorded $1.83M, up 622.03%, from eight transactions involving four buyers and three sellers.

ArgonautsEthereum$2.74M1,204$2,276
Alchemix V3 TransmuterEthereum$1.83M8$228,750

The averages separate the two shapes: Alchemix's $228,750 per transaction against Courtyard's $51, while Argonauts' $2,276 per transaction reflects 1,204 mid-ticket trades. A top-three ranking built on eight trades is a record of where value settled, not of how many participants settled it.

Key takeaways
  • Sales fell 15.28% to $37.54M, but the two comparison bases closed to within 5.3% — the narrowest gap in the series.
  • Buyer addresses rose 174.04% to 114,977, reversing last week's 84.67% collapse and reconciling almost exactly with our own base.
  • Ethereum took 40.8% of organic volume; Base was the only chain of the six to grow, up 4.06%.
  • BAYC was the only blue-chip floor to rise, +0.91% to 6.85 ETH, on 48.94% less weekly volume.
  • Polygon's wash ratio returned to 2.55×; Alchemix V3 Transmuter ranked third on eight transactions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What was total NFT sales volume for the week of Sep 14–20, 2026?

$37.54M in organic sales per CryptoSlam's Sep 19 capture. Against the roughly $44.31M prior-week base cited in that capture it is a 15.28% decline; against our own Sep 12 capture of $46.78M it is 19.75%. CryptoSlam does not publish the span behind its comparison.

How did buyer addresses rise 174% in one week?

The count went from 41,959 to 114,977, and the change reconciles almost exactly between our base (+174.02%) and the capture's (+174.04%). Transactions per buyer address fell back to 7.0 from 21.9 and value per buyer address to $327 from about $1,115, so the ratios that spiked last week normalised together.

Which chain had the most NFT sales?

Ethereum, at $15.32M — 40.8% of global organic volume. Polygon was second at $7.09M, Bitcoin third at $4.33M, and BNB Chain fourth at $2.58M after two declining weeks.

Did blue-chip floors follow ETH's 1.73% gain?

Only BAYC did, up 0.91% to 6.85 ETH. Doodles fell 7.02%, Pudgy Penguins 6.29%, Azuki 4.62% and CryptoPunks 0.74%. Between our two dated snapshots the BAYC gain computes to 2.24%, so it is larger on the snapshot basis than on CoinGecko's rolling window.

Is the wash-trading figure included in the sales total?

No. CryptoSlam reports organic sales separately from wash volume. This week the source published wash for Ethereum ($443,802), Polygon ($18.07M) and Base ($4.80M); other chains are shown without a figure rather than an estimate.
