Cross-chain NFT sales reached $75.54M for the week of Aug 31–Sep 6, 2026, while transactions fell to 650,332 — fewer trades at nearly twice the average size. BNB Chain overtook Ethereum for the first time in our weekly table, and every blue-chip floor we track declined in ETH.
Every figure is CryptoSlam data captured Sep 5, 2026, except the blue-chip floors, which come from NeoDrop's Sep 4 briefing. Where the weekly percentage depends on an undisclosed comparison base, we publish both readings.
Data sources. All figures are CryptoSlam data as reported in the Sep 5, 2026 seven-day dashboard capture (Cryptonomist, CoinScreamer, Bitcoins News and CoinDesk — figures identical across outlets; additional chain detail from Smarti Live). Blue-chip floors come from NeoDrop's Aug 29 – Sep 4 briefing, cutoff Sep 4 09:00 ET, built from CoinGecko collection data and OpenSea collection pages. Buyer and seller counts are blockchain addresses, which may not equal unique individuals.
1. Headline Numbers
CryptoSlam's Sep 5 capture records $75.54M in organic sales, up 55.6% on the ~$48.55M prior-week figure quoted inside that same capture. Our own Aug 29 capture put the prior week at $63.33M, against which this week is a 19.3% increase. Both columns are shown below because CryptoSlam does not publish the span behind its prior-week comparison; buyer addresses reconcile exactly between the two bases (+20.38% on either) and seller addresses nearly (+17.7% ours vs 18.09% reported); sales value and transactions do not.
| Metric | This week (Aug 31–Sep 6) | Prior week (our Aug 29 capture) | Prior week (cited in this capture) | Change (our base) | As reported |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Sales volume (organic) | $75.54M | $63.33M | $48.55M | +19.3% | +55.6% |
| Transactions | 650,332 | 802,330 | — | -18.9% | −14.77% |
| Buyer addresses | 273,655 | 227,316 | — | +20.4% | +20.38% |
| Seller addresses | 291,266 | 247,373 | — | +17.7% | +18.09% |
| Avg value per transaction | $116.16 | $78.93 | $64 | +47.2% | ≈ +81% |
Transactions fell to 650,332 and average value per transaction rose to $116.16 — $75.54M across 650,332 trades, up from $78.93 last week. Buyer addresses rose 20.4% to 273,655. The market did more business with fewer, larger trades.
2. Chain Breakdown — Organic vs Wash
Ranked by organic sales. BNB Chain leads for the first time on record; wash volume is shown in raw dollars where it falls below $1M.
| Chain | Organic sales | W/W | Wash volume | Combined | Buyer addrs | Buyers W/W |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| BNB Chain | $32.75M | +1,042% | $8 | $32.75M | 22,132 | +30.8% |
| Ethereum | $18.94M | -14.2% | $742,249 | $19.68M | 40,098 | +21.1% |
| Polygon | $7.29M | +6.1% | $18.73M | $26.02M | 94,731 | +10.7% |
| Bitcoin | $5.87M | -34.2% | $94,991 | — | 13,103 | +28.9% |
| Base | $4.23M | +36.6% | $4.80M | $9.03M | 5,050 | +64.5% |
| Solana | $1.91M | +10.0% | $24,849 | — | 47,853 | +24.0% |
BNB Chain's $32.75M came with $8 of flagged wash volume and no single dominant collection. Polygon's $18.73M of wash against $7.29M organic is a 2.57× ratio — essentially unchanged from 2.59× the week before. Base repeated the pattern of wash exceeding organic, at $4.80M against $4.23M. Ethereum's wash share fell 56.30% to $742,249, the lowest relative share among the majors. The six named chains together account for about 94% of global organic volume. Chain-level W/W percentages in the table are as reported in the Sep 5 capture; on our Aug 29 base, Ethereum's decline computes to 46.7% — the widest chain-level base gap this week.
3. Blue-Chip Floors
NeoDrop's Aug 29 – Sep 4 briefing (cutoff Sep 4, 09:00 ET) recorded every tracked floor lower in ETH terms: Azuki −17.00%, Doodles −15.23%, Pudgy Penguins −13.66%, CryptoPunks −5.21% and BAYC −4.42%. ETH itself rose 0.48% over the window, from $2,442.41 to $2,454.17, so these are real declines rather than a currency effect.
| Collection | Floor (Sep 4) | Floor (Aug 28) | Change vs Aug 28 | 7-day (as reported) | Floor (USD) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| CryptoPunks | 30.75 ETH | 31.98 ETH | -3.8% | -5.2% | $75,466 |
| Bored Ape Yacht Club | 7.55 ETH | 7.899 ETH | -4.4% | -4.4% | $18,529 |
| Pudgy Penguins | 3.8 ETH | 4.29 ETH | -11.4% | -13.7% | $9,326 |
| Azuki | 0.73 ETH | 0.87 ETH | -16.1% | -17.0% | $1,792 |
| Doodles | 0.318095 ETH | 0.3829 ETH | -16.9% | -15.2% | $781 |
Two change columns again, because they are genuinely different measurements. Change vs Aug 28 compares two precisely dated snapshots — ours and NeoDrop's from the previous week. 7-day (as reported) is CoinGecko's rolling seven-day percentage, which uses its own window. They agree for BAYC and differ by up to about 2.2 percentage points elsewhere — the largest gap is Pudgy Penguins (−11.4% between the two dated snapshots vs −13.66% as reported). We publish both rather than present either as the single answer.
The volume picture moves the other way: every collection with an available 24-hour pulse rose, BAYC's by 383.92% to 144.64 ETH on 13 sales. Falling floors alongside rising short-term turnover is the defining tension of the week.
4. Top Collections
Courtyard (Polygon) led at $6.32M across 97,050 transactions — about 8.4% of global volume, and a genuinely broad base, though its buyer addresses fell 7.63% to 17,766. Beezie (Base) ranked second at $2.64M with nine buyer addresses against 240 sellers. Argonauts fell 63.54% to $2.07M on 3,068 transactions; CryptoPunks did $1.86M from 18 sales and BAYC $1.17M from 63.
| Collection | Chain | Sales | Transactions | Avg per txn |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Courtyard | Polygon | $6.32M | 97,050 | $65 |
| Beezie | Base | $2.64M | — | — |
| Argonauts | Ethereum | $2.07M | 3,068 | $675 |
| CryptoPunks | Ethereum | $1.86M | 18 | $103,333 |
| Bored Ape Yacht Club | Ethereum | $1.17M | 63 | $18,571 |
CryptoPunks' $103,333 average per sale against a 30.75 ETH floor (about $75,466) is the usual reminder that a handful of high-tier trades sets the weekly figure for a 10,000-item collection. Argonauts' $674.71 average across 3,068 transactions is the opposite shape — high-frequency, mid-ticket trading.
5. What Rose, What Fell
| Metric | Direction | Reading |

- All five blue-chip floors fell in ETH while every 24-hour volume pulse rose.
Frequently Asked Questions
What was total NFT sales volume for the week of Aug 31–Sep 6, 2026?
$75.54M in organic sales per CryptoSlam's Sep 5 capture. Against the ~$48.55M prior-week figure quoted in that capture it is +55.6%; against our own Aug 29 capture of $63.33M it is +19.3%. CryptoSlam does not publish the span behind its comparison.
Why did sales rise while transactions fell?
Because the average trade got much larger. Value per transaction rose from $78.93 to $116.16 — up 47.2% — while the number of trades fell 18.9%. Fewer, bigger transactions, not more participants per trade.
Which chain had the most NFT sales?
BNB Chain, at $32.75M in organic sales — the first time a chain other than Ethereum has led our weekly table. Ethereum was second at $18.94M.
Did blue-chip floors rise with the market?
No. All five tracked floors fell in ETH terms between the Aug 28 and Sep 4 snapshots, from −4.42% (BAYC) to −17.00% (Azuki), while ETH itself rose 0.48%.
Is the wash-trading figure included in the sales total?
No. CryptoSlam reports organic sales separately from wash volume. Combined figures are shown in the chain table where the source reported them.
